The challenge
Tidewater sells to boatyards in Canada, Mexico and Australia on 30-day terms. Buyers were asked to pay in US dollars by wire, and many waited until they could batch several invoices to save on bank fees.
Average collection time had crept past fifty days, and the two-person operations team spent much of each week sending reminders.
The solution
Each invoice now includes a payment link priced in the buyer's own currency, with card and local bank transfer options. Tidewater receives US dollars at a rate quoted when the link is created.
Reminders are sent automatically from the same link, and paid invoices are marked as settled in the accounting system without manual entry.
