Senior Software Engineer, Payments Platform

About the role

Build and run the services that authorise, capture and settle card payments across our acquiring connections.

What you will do

• Design and ship changes to the core authorisation and capture services.
• Own reliability for the services you build, including on-call on a shared rotation.
• Work with product and risk teams to roll out new acquirer connections safely.
• Improve observability so that issues are found before merchants report them.
• Review code and design documents across the platform team.

What we are looking for

• Several years building backend services that handle money or other critical state.
• Experience with distributed systems, idempotency and failure handling.
• Comfort with a typed language such as Go, Kotlin or TypeScript.
• Clear written communication, especially in design documents.
