The challenge
Copperline ships electronic components from Germany and the Netherlands to manufacturers in more than thirty countries. Some products are subject to export controls, and classification was done by hand after the order was accepted.
Incorrect or missing HS codes caused shipments to be held at customs, and buyers were often surprised by duties on arrival.
The solution
Orders now pass through the Unified Orders API, which runs Trade Compliance Screening against restricted-party lists and export-control rules before payment is taken.
Duties & Taxes assigns HS codes from the product catalogue and quotes landed cost on the order, so buyers agree the full amount upfront and paperwork travels with the shipment.
Classification and screening used to happen after the order. Moving them before it changed everything downstream.
