Privacy notice
Last updated 1 oct 2026
This is placeholder text for a product prototype. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed for compliance with any data protection law. Any real privacy notice must be written and reviewed by qualified counsel.
Who we are
International Orders is a fictional cross-border payments brand used to demonstrate a product website. This notice describes how the prototype site handles information. It also sketches, for illustration, what a real payment provider's notice might cover.
What this prototype collects
The prototype is designed to collect as little as possible.
- Preferences stored in your browser. Your cookie consent choice, language and region, and light or dark theme. Consent and theme stay in your browser; the locale is kept in a first-party cookie so pages load in your language. See the cookie policy.
- Form submissions. If a form on this site, such as a contact or guide download form, is connected to a back end in a given deployment, it may receive what you type, such as your name, work email and company. In the prototype, these forms may not send data anywhere.
- Server logs. The hosting platform may record standard request data, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and operations.
No analytics or marketing scripts from third parties are loaded in this prototype.
How information is used
Where information is collected, it is used to:
- Respond to your request, such as sending a guide or replying to a sales enquiry.
- Keep the site secure and working.
- Remember your preferences on your device.
We do not sell personal information.
What a live service would involve
A real payment provider processes personal data on behalf of merchants and in its own right. That typically includes shopper payment details, transaction records, device data for fraud prevention and business verification data for merchants. A real notice would explain, for each:
- The purpose and legal basis for processing.
- Whether the provider acts as controller or processor.
- How long data is kept, including retention required by financial regulation.
- Which partners receive data, such as card networks, banks and fraud prevention services.
- How data is transferred between countries and what safeguards apply.
This section is illustrative only. The prototype does not process payment data.
Sharing
The prototype does not share personal information with third parties, other than the hosting provider that serves the site. If a form is connected to a back end, its operator and that service's providers would receive the submitted data.
International transfers
The site may be served from data centres in several countries. A real notice would list transfer mechanisms in use. This is left unspecified in the prototype.
Retention
Browser preferences remain until you clear them. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider according to its own policy. Form submissions, if any, would be kept only as long as needed to respond.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Change your cookie choices at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Clear stored preferences by clearing site data in your browser.
- Ask what information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. A real notice would describe these and how to exercise them.
Children
The site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
